The turbo - Rayray

Rolling Chassis

March 2008 - Finally on the bench and engine in.

Not being too mechanically experienced and it being first time working on a bandit I struggled somewhat.  Nothing seemed to line up, I put rear mounting bolts in from wrong side.  All the usual muppet stuff.  Anyway it is all in and torqued up.

March 2008 - Loose fix of headers and link pipe

A tight fit

Trying to get inlet side lined up (snail rotated around bearing housing)

I think that is about right, but there will be an awkward angle to plenum

Wastegate flange will need adjusting - hello mr drill and mr angle grinder

turbo pipe mock up

Building new pipe template

MTC Lock up clutch

MTC lock up clutch installed.  Needed conversion to a coil spring clutch from GSXR (basket from an L model, pressure plate from a slabbie)

Goodridge Oil Cooler

Goodridge oil cooler (I should have got top entry hoses, as all a bit tight with bottom entry).  I made up bottom bracket, spacer tubes and threaded rods myself.  Breather hose is from Pirtek - a bit cheaper and soft than goodridge

Cockpit using GSXR clocks.  Whilst the loom connectoors fitted the bandit loom, the wires and blank pins were all in different locations.

To overcome the problem I used 12v car stereo connectors.  I soldered the loom and clock wires in so that matched up

TES sprocket cover

TES sprocket cover / slave support of ali billet.  Nice ebay find.
